Cookies Policy

Short version
This website sets a small number of cookies. Two of them are needed for the site to work at all: one remembers which language you are reading in, and one remembers the answer you give to the cookie notice. Anything beyond those is only set after you accept, and the table below always shows the current list.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website can store in your browser, for example to remember a preference between visits. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in comparable ways.
What we use
The table below is generated from this site’s own settings rather than written by hand, so it cannot fall out of date. A row marked “Not in use” is a tool we have set up the site to support but are not running today; it sets nothing in your browser while it says that.
| Cookie | What it does | Category | Provider | Stored for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
vog_consent |
Remembers whether you accepted or declined measurement cookies, so the notice is not shown again. | Necessary | VOG Foundation — Humanitarian Aid in Ukraine | Voice of Generations | 6 months |
pll_language |
Remembers which of the two languages you are reading the site in. | Necessary | Polylang, on this domain | 1 year |
wordpress_logged_in_* |
Keeps a signed-in editor signed in. It is never set for a visitor who does not log in. | Necessary | WordPress, on this domain | 14 days |
wp-settings-* |
Remembers a signed-in editor's own admin screen preferences. | Necessary | WordPress, on this domain | 1 year |
Resources loaded from other providers
Today, none: fonts, stylesheets and scripts are all served from this domain, so no external provider receives your IP address when a page loads. If a measurement tool is switched on it appears in the table above, and its provider does receive your IP address once you accept.
Controlling cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies for any website. Blocking them here means the site cannot remember your language choice or your answer to the cookie notice, so it will ask again on every page.
